Giornico Holdings and Advisory, LLC is a team of respected, connected, and experienced water resource professionals that provide advisory and strategic services to clients who need a solid, resource-driven roadmap for acquiring, selling, or developing water and water-related assets. With over 25 years of successful water development projects and transactions under our belt, we have experience in all forms of water transactions in the western United States. GHA has successfully conducted water resource development projects throughout Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. Projects involve the location, aggregation, development, and conversion of water rights from fragmented agricultural markets to emerging uses.
In the highly regulated and bureaucratic world of water rights, GHA brings a vast range of experience to our projects and clients, ranging from pre-statutory vested claims and judicial adjudications to change of use applications and administrative strategies. Our team has over 25 years of direct experience in water development projects that solve water supply demands for residential and commercial development, municipal water supply, mining and milling, power generation, environmental mitigation, and stormwater management challenges.
Water projects can and often create political and community storms; GHA employs its deep understanding of the core resource of water supply and its social and economic impacts on a community to craft successful strategies to meet the water demands of our projects and clients.
GHA has decades of successful experience in the permitting and construction of large municipal water importation projects, which move large volumes of water to areas where demand is high. GHA has developed and permitted water storage projects, water supply projects for power generation, sourced and developed water for large mining projects, and developed new water rights and sources for agricultural projects.
GHA implicitly understands that every water demand and need is unique relative to the source, location, use, impacts, and local politics; however, each water project must be driven by the resource itself. Through GHA’s professional team of lawyers, hydrogeologists, geophysics, engineers, and water right surveyors, GHA works hard to identify the unique demands and constraints on the water resource and collectively construct a solid process of development, entitlement/permitting, physical development of the infrastructure, and the ultimate monetization of the water assets.
